Caroline "Carol" Ironside, born April 3, 1944, passed away peacefully in Kipling, Saskatchewan on January 26, 2023 at the age of 78 years. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Steve Kashmere; husband Harley; and sisters, Dawn and Patricia. She is survived by her son Shaun, brother Earl Kashmere (Wilma Olmsted), and nieces Courtney Pinsonneault and Paige Kashmere, her aunt Annie Kaczmar, as well as cousins, a great niece, and her two Yorkshire Terriers, Rocky and Rambo, who brought much joy to her life. Carol was a kind and loving person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Carol will be remembered for her selfless nature, her love for animals, her enjoyment of reading and playing computer games, her passion for gardening, and her creativeness with her crafts and knitting. Throughout her life, Carol had various career pursuits, including working as a hairdresser and co-owning hotels with her husband Harley. She also had an unbreakable bond with her sister Patricia, where they spent time together at Patricia's crafting store and gardening at the homestead farm. Additionally, she devoted her time to being a loving mother and homemaker.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Kipling Integrated Health Centre and the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic. They would also like to extend special thanks to the Kipling homecare staff, including Della, Erin, Kim, and Lana, for providing care, companionship, friendship, and laughter over the past few years. In her final years, Carol was blessed with the support of several friends and family members who helped her with her daily activities and regularly checked in on her to ensure her well-being. Marlene Gies, Terry Ficken, Rick and Joanne O'Sullivan, Daryl Roth, David Kashmere, and Tamara Woroschuk, among several other community members, provided Carol with invaluable support. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to these individuals for their unwavering support and care.
A private interment of cremated remains was held in St. Anne’s Parish Cemetery, Kipling, Saskatchewan.
