Henry Roger Joseph Poirier

Henry Roger Joseph Poirier passed away very peacefully while we were listening to the Daily Mass on Thanksgiving Monday morning, October 9, 2023. He was 85 years old and was born in Haywood, Manitoba.

He was predeceased by his loving parents Wilfred and Martha Poirier and an infant brother.

Henry is survived by his brother John and his sister Marie and her family.

Married in 1960 to his partner Florence Oleskiw, we faced every challenge together, of our amazing 63 years together. We were truly blessed with four wonderful children, all born in Kipling.

Barbara arrived first a year later, followed by our son Maurice, a year after that. Henry was employed at Smalley Tractor Ltd. in Kipling and ten years later, purchased his shop in Kennedy where he continued to serve the farming community. Our second daughter Marilyn arrived a year later and our second son Patrick completed our family. He loved every moment of his home, his family and his work at Kennedy for over 40 years, he finally reluctantly retired at 75.

Our family married: Barbara, (Dan), Maurice (Sharon), Marilyn (Craig), Patrick (Shauna) blessed us with 6 grandchildren: Lisa (Parker), Ashley (Quentin), Holly (Gilles), Jordan, Geneva and Spencer and 3 great-grandchildren: Erik, Harper and Addison. We made every day special in some small or big way-always.

The funeral mass was celebrated on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 1:00 pm in St. Anne's R.C. Church, Kipling, Saskatchewan by Rev. Joseph Villamartin. The interment took place in the parish cemetery.
