I was born to a respected family who resided on a dairy farm near Ballston Spa, N.Y.
My father died when I was a teenager. My mother and brother and I continued to live on the farm.
After I graduated from high school, I went to work for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady, N.Y.
While there I heard a fellow worker say that she knew she was going to heaven. Although I was a church member this seemed strange to me. Sometimes I spent a weekend with her and went to her church and young people's meetings.
The young people seemed to have something that I didn't have. I wouldn't ask but I listened an observed. After some time I understood the gospel and asked the Lord to forgive me and be my Savior.
After I went to Nyack College, I felt the Lord wanted me to work for him full time. I then went to the Kentucky Mountains working in the Christian SS, schools, camp, etc. These were wonderful years.
After returning home to care for my mother for a few years, I returned to Nyack College, this time as a Bookkeeper. I enjoyed my time there also. When retirement came, Margaret Lewis and I came to Good Samaritan Village. I have endeavored to serve the Lord here also. I have had a wonderful life.
God has always been with me in the joy and sorrows that are all a part of life.
