
She was born in Hawkins County, Tennessee on January 7, 1932 to the late Hiram and late Maude Ellen Vermillian Brooks.
Barbara worked in the sewing industry and was a homemaker. She was a loving wife to Henry for 57 years. They met at work at the Kingsport Press, were married, and provided a happy, loving home. She was a wonderful mother to three children. She was active in their school activities and church functions. She enjoyed cooking. Her Mexican Cornbread was a favorite of her family. Her cakes won ribbons at the local fair. She also had a love for reading. She often could be found with the Bible or a book in her hand. She passed this love of reading on to her children.
Barbara was preceded in death by brothers Billy Gale Brooks and Ray Brooks; and, sisters Mary Hunt and Louise Gilreath.
She is survived by husband, Henry Snavely; Children, Cathy Noe (Robert), Susan McGuire (Jon), and Jim Snavely; Sister, Faye Lewis; Grandchildren, Joshua Noe, Nicholas Noe, Jon McGuire II (Crystal), Lauren McGuire, and Brooke McGuire; Great Grandchild, Jon McGuire III
A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be held Monday, May 16 at 2pm at GracePointe Church, Lester Road, Apopka.
