Connor, often referred to as “Connie,” was born on April 29, 2017 at Celebration Hospital in Kissimmee, FL. From that moment, he began to fulfill his purpose of bringing joy into the life of anybody he encountered. He was uncommonly intelligent and observant, which manifested itself in the questions he would ask and the conversations he would hold. Connor loved dinosaurs, the color green, and all things Mickey Mouse. He enjoyed eating and was very particular about the foods he wanted to eat. “Energetic,” would be an understatement to describe the vigor with which he lived his life. Connie was passionate about music, as evidenced by his desire to sing and his incredible dancing. He could often be found participating in dance parties with his brother Cameron; with echoes of “Go Connie, go Connie!” in the background. He was a fierce best friend to his older brother Cameron and a loving son to his parents Carl and Alicia. In July of 2019, Connor was diagnosed with leukemia. Through endless hours of treatment and hospital visits, he never lost the youthful exuberance that made him such a joy to be around. His strength, in the face of adversity, was admirable; and so powerful that he was able to lift the spirits of all those around him even in the darkest of times. He truly deserved more than this world would ever be able to offer him, and he gave this world more than it could ever repay him for.
He is survived by his parents, Carl and Alicia Desir; brother, Cameron Asher Desir; maternal grandparents, Barry and Linda Johnson; paternal grandparents Astrel and Gertrude Desir; great grandparents, Gerard and Leonne Desir; great grandmother, Juanita Pottinger (Nana), great great grandmother, Ivanee Allen; 6 uncles, Allan Desir, Mitch Desir, Barry Johnson Jr., Aaron Johnson, Andrew Johnson, and Kyle Johnson; aunt, Adrianna Johnson; and a host of other great aunts, great uncles, family and loved ones.
A celebration of Connor’s life will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm, on Wednesday, April 29, at Grissom Funeral Home and Crematory, 803 W Emmet St, Kissimmee, with Pastor Anthony DeWitt officiating a private family service at 10:00am.
