Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. David was born February 26, 1959 in Asbury Park, NJ. He was the 7th of 10 children born to Ira Rebuck, Jr. and Geraldine Kratzer Rebuck. He spent much of his younger years in NJ and Punxsutawney, PA - where his father pastored a church. He worked at several factories and also had his own service station during his career. His last position was as a crane operator at Car-Tech in Reading, PA.
David began a battle with multiple sclerosis in his early 40's, which ended his career and eventually his life. During his endurance of the trial, David was able to maintain his sense of humor and dignity and grew in moral and spiritual strength. Throughout his life, he was known for being the one to initiate a joke, prank or a good laugh. Once, when visiting Florida, he was video-recording some wildlife from a pond, when a native Floridian came by. Seeing an opportunity, Dave quickly introduced himself as a reporter from a news station and "interviewed" the person on the spot! Whenever he percieved his family was grieving due to his own illness, he was quick to make a joke aimed at himself to make light of the situation.
Towards the end of his illness, he was comforted by his wife, children and family. He was heard singing the song, "Open the Eyes of My Heart, Lord" several times. He was preceeded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife, Wendi, and 5 adult children: Dana Rebuck (Philadelphia, PA), Joshua Rebuck (Brookville, PA), Kyle Rebuck (Chicago, IL), Kirk Bruner and Dylan Rebuck (Kissimmee, FL). In addition, David leaves behind his brothers: Craig Rebuck (Lakeland, FL), Dennis Rebuck (Punxsutawney, PA), Ken Rebuck (Sandpointe, IL), Kevin Rebuck (Punxsutawney, PA), Steve Rebuck (Orlando, FL), and sisters: Denise Rebuck Halcolm (Bethalto, IL), Mary Rebuck Kieffer (Lititz, PA), Sue Rebuck Cluck (Shippensburg, PA) and Kathie Rebuck Carr (Portland, ME). David will be dearly missed by all who knew him. However, the family takes comfort in knowing he is now in a better place with a renewed body. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday July 20, 2011, at 2pm - Grissom Funeral Home 803 Emmett St. Kissimmee FL 34741. Food and fellowship will follow the service.
A second right of internment will be held at North Umberland Memorial Park Sunbury, Pennsylvania on July 25, 2011 at 11am. Which will be David's final resting place. Food and fellowship will follow the service at Faye Lou Knause's home.
