Donna Hall (née Donna Elisabeth Semler), 77, passed away on December 7, 2025. Born on July 3, 1948, to the late George and Joan Semler, Donna was a woman whose life was defined by a tireless devotion to the people she loved.
Donna grew up in Livingston, New Jersey, lived a few years in New York City and Kentucky, and lived a total of 42 years in Florida, 12 years in Gainesville and 30 years in the Orlando area.
A dedicated hospice nurse, Donna’s professional calling was a reflection of her soul—gentle, selfless, and profoundly kind. She provided dignity and peace to countless families during their most difficult journeys. Her care, however, extended far beyond the walls of her work. Donna was a constant, nurturing presence in the lives of her children and her community. She spent years passionately supporting her daughter Mandi’s horse career in Hunter Jumping, encouraging Preston with piano lessons for his early music training, and was a beloved figure among the ballet community, where she spent countless hours helping young dancers pursue their dreams. Whether at the stable or the theater, Donna was the steady heart behind the scenes, always ready to offer a helping hand or a word of encouragement.
Donna was the cherished wife of Matthew Bishop Hall and the devoted mother of Amanda "Mandi" Kempton Hall and Preston Kiernan Hall. Though she was preceded in death by her sisters, Marita and Sharon, her memory lives on through her brothers, GJ and Jack Semler.
Please come and help us celebrate Donna’s life with a Celebration of Life event scheduled for February 7, 2026, a Saturday, from 12 Noon to 3pm. There will be food and a ceremony from 1-2.
