Dorothy A. Montano, 81 of Kissimmee, FL died peacefully on Thursday December 11, 2014. Born in Piermont, NY to George W. and Louise (Maggiolo) Voorhis. Mrs. Montano travelled extensively as a military spouse and homemaker before her family settling back to Piermont, eventually retiring to Kissimmee several years ago. Mrs. Montano worked for St. Thomas Aquinas College and Nyack Hospital. After her retirement she was a volunteer for the Democratic Party. Mrs. Montano was predeceased by her son James Joseph in 1959. Mrs Montano is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years Charles A. Montano Sr. and her loving children Charles A. Montano Jr, Dorothy Ann Montano, Louise Falcone, Theresa Montano, Kathryn Bennett, and Mary Ellen Daly. She was the cherished grandmother (Mema) to Vincent & Candice Falcone, Richard, Andrew, John, & Jessica Bennett, Shelton Cochran, and Christopher Daly. The great grandmother (Mema) to Michael Falcone, Hunter & Aiden Cochran and Dean Mozzarello. Also surviving is her brother John R. and wife Jan Voorhis of Hobe Sound, FL, sister in-law Mary Voorhis of Piermont. Dorothy was predeceased by her brother George W. Voorhis of Piermont. A memorial celebrating her life was held on December 15, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society of Kissimmee. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Foundation
