She was born in New York, New York on January 4, 1943.
She was married to Ned Hugh “Buddy” Bass on November 2, 1979.
Jacqueline “Jackie” worked for Bell Telephone as an operator and Imperial Elevator Co as a bookkeeper in New York before moving to Osceola County with her parents in the late 70’s, where she began work as a secretary for Avatar Homes. She also assisted her husband Ned Hugh “Buddy” with platting whips that were sold locally within the county and across the world. Once her husband was no longer able to platt, she went on to work for Smith Growers as a bookkeeper for Se’Belle and Gary Dymmek of Osceola County.
Jackie had a strong love for her family, friends, and life itself. She had the best sense of humor and made everyone around her laugh. One of her greatest quotes was “Cry hard but laugh harder.” Her laugh, smile, and the animated way she would share stories were the best and always sure to put a smile on your face. Jackie was very generous and had the biggest heart. If you were visiting, there was a big chance you did not leave empty-handed. Whether it be something she wanted to pass down from the family, something bought on QVC, or food she had prepared, nobody left her home without something in hand.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ned Hugh “Buddy” Bass of Osceola County, her parents Dominick and Lauretta Sofio formerly of New York, and her brother Donald Sofio of New Jersey.
She is survived by her Nephew(s) Bill Sofio (Gina), Craig Sofio (Michelle), Niece Donna Esposito (Jim), 8 great nieces and nephews, 1 great-great niece, sister-in-law Sue Lutz Sofio, Step-children Carolyn Williams (Larry), Marilyn Thomas (George), Mariella Bass, Quinton Bass (Tracy), Grandchildren Sheb Williams (Chantelle), Rowdy Williams, Stacie Conner (Allen), Chris Thomas (Sara), Raymond Grogan (Yumie), Christal Grogan, Kristen O’Berry (Clay), Kaley Richard (Kaden), 21 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.
