James was Born November 27, 1928 in New Rochelle, NY. He attended Public Schools in NYC.
After graduating from High School James enlisted in the Army and he served in Japan.
James Married Cynthia Bourne in 1950 and from that union a son James H Gardner was born,
Both preceded him in death. After his active Military service ended he was employed with
The New York City Police Department where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant and retired in
1983. James was known by his friends and family as Jim. He lived up to his name of Gardner.
He was a true gardener, getting lots of enjoyment planting flowers and plants around his home.
James relocated to Florida in 2003. He married his present wife Jacqueline Gardner in 2005,
From this beautiful union they began traveling extensively enjoying their companionship
Until he departed this life on May 22, 2011.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife Jacqueline; his sister Sarita Livingstone and
His brother-in-law James of Florida. Brother-in -law Ronald Brown wife Mable and family of
Atlanta, Ga. Step-son Dana Folks wife Bernice and family of Jamaica, N.Y. His nephew
Troy Livingstone wife Monica and their son Troy of Florida. Cousins Barbara Robinson,
Cheryl, Darryl wife Julie and family of California.
A viewing will be held at Grissom Funeral Home on Friday, May 27th, from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am.
Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
