James “Jim” L. Singer, 93, of St. Cloud, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Jim was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on November 25, 1924 to Patrick and Agnes (Burke) Singer. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 24 years. In 1966 he retired from his final tour of duty at Camp Lejeune, NC. He relocated to Chittenango, NY, worked at Manlius Military School and was an active member of American Legion Post 707. Upon the closing of Manlius Military School, Jim began his final career at Stonehedge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Chittenango, NY until his retirement and relocation to Kissimmee, FL in 1988. He then spent much of his time on the golf course, cruising the Caribbean, and enjoying time with family and friends. Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 71 years, Irene (Miller) Singer, his children, Marilyn (Kurt) Hollenbeck and James (Charma) Singer, Jr., 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Jim is also survived by 2 brothers, Arthur Singer and Patrick Singer, and 3 sisters, Rita Singer, Mary Lou Florentino, and Patricia Stief. Burial with full military honors will take place at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 10:30 am with a luncheon to follow at the Portofino Italian Restaurant, 3350 S. Washington Avenue (Route 1), Titusville, FL.
