Janet Sue Masters, 65, received her eternal reward, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love, kindness, and strength. She was born January 25, 1961, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Wesley “Bud” Masters and Roberta Masters.
Janet graduated from Fort Osage High School class of ’79 and went on to serve others as a certified nurse’s aide and bus driver at Blue Springs School District. Her caring nature showed through both her work and her personal life, and she brought compassion, comfort, and kindness to those around her.
Above all, Janet was a devoted mother. She loved her family deeply and will be remembered for the love she gave, the strength she carried, and the special moments she shared with her children and grandchildren.
In her life in Kansas City Janet shared her love of service through Harvest Cathedral Church of God as both a Children’s Ministry Leader, and Women’s Group Ministry Leader. Janet also served faithfully as a devoted volunteer at several food pantries with her longest tenure at the Helping Hands of Odessa Food Bank. Her love of community and faith shined throughout her beautiful life.
Janet retired to Kissimmee Fl. to live out her second childhood with her brother John Masters. Janet and John created so many fun memories together with their shared enthusiasm for Dappering at Disney World with their cousin Jimmy Stamberger who helped them to rediscover their youthful vigor. Janet and her brother made so very many devoted friends within their retirement community, church community at St. Cloud Church of God, and gardening. Mom and John enjoyed so many adventures together, and just as they came to Florida together, they finished their race together.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley “Bud” Masters and Roberta Masters. She is survived by her three children, Jay Ferguson (Amy), Julie Williams (Taylor) and Jacob Ferguson (Hannah); and her six grandchildren, Autumn, Conner, Jordan, Jenna, Jameson, and Benjamin.
Janet will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she has received her eternal reward in Christ and rests in peace.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
