

He was married to Patricia Ann Coamey on August 19, 1987 in Port Jervis, New York. Joe served in the United States Army and afterwards became a Firefighter in the City of New York Fire Department. Joe was proud of both his military service and fire department career. He loved cruising with his wife, Pat, and her many travel groups. Joe and Pat were both members of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines Crown & Anchor Society Pinnacle Club. He was a past Exalted Ruler of the Kissimmee Chapter of the Elks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Angelina Coamey of Brooklyn, New York; brother, Edward Coamey of Kissimmee, Florida; and sisters Anna May Haugstatter of Nesconset, New York and Dolores Kennedy of St. Cloud, Florida.
Joe is survived by his daughters Veronica Coamey of Port Jervis, New York; Linda Volpe of Middletown, New York; Kathleen Carr of Middletown, NY; Joelle Rutigliano of Staten Island, New York and son Joseph Coamey of Middletown, New York. He had a very close friend and “soul brother” Bobby Reighard of Kissimmee, Florida.
Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to Grissom Funeral Home and Crematory, 803 Emmett Street, Kissimmee, Florida.
A celebration of life will be held at the Elks Club, Kissimmee, Florida on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 2:00 PM. A ceremony and burial at sea will be held aboard the RCCL Utopia of the Seas on August 10, 2026.
