

SPECHT - Julius C. Specht (Bud), 93, of Kissimmee, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 21, 1916. He spent most of his life in Key West, FL working hard at the Naval Station and raising his family. After he retired, they moved to Kissimmee, FL.
He is survived by his beautiful, wonderful and beloved wife of 64 years, Lois. Bud was the beloved father of four wonderful daughters Linda Specht House, Gainsville, FL, Karen McGee, Monroe, GA, Donna Specht-Rariden, North Lauderdale, FL and Judy Wurts, Andover, MA. Also known as Pap Pap, he is survived by many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as sons in-law.
Bud was a lieutenant Commander in United States Navy, past president and member of the Military Order of World Wars (MOWW), member of the Retired Officers Association, Key West Navy Flying Club, Engineers Club in Key West, and Key West Power Squadron. He sang lead in the Barber Shop Chorus in Key West. He was a member and past president of the Nautical Wheelers Square Dance Club in Key West, Gold Coast Camping Dancers in Key West, Kiss-A-Me Squares in Kissimmee, Wagon Wheel St. Cloud and Penn Shores Camp-N Squares in Erie, PA. He loved to fly and play the harmonica. Our Daddy will be dearly missed by many.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 1 at 3:30 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home in Kissimmee where there will be a Celebration of Life Ceremony in his honor. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, our dad would appreciate donations being made to Give Kids the World and/or St. Judes Hospital.
