Larry Dean Berry, aged 70 passed away on September 9, 2024, in Celebration, Florida. Born May 25, 1954, in Decatur, Illinois, Larry was a man of many talents and interests ranging from magic to scuba diving and many others in between. He served honorably in the US Navy and was a supporter of veterans for the remainder of his life.
Larry’s professional journey was equally impressive and varied. He retired from his General Manager position with KVLS and the Osceola County Fair. His working life spanned many roles and locations. He was a Guest Experience Manager with The Walt Disney Company as well as a member of the Dive Team at EPCOT, a Regional Property Manager of several multimillion-dollar multifamily housing properties across the US, a published author of both fiction and nonfiction works. Because he needed something to do after he retired, he formed his own company, Wizardry Enterprises, and worked as a sought-after public speaker within the fairs and expos industry as well as the multifamily housing industry.
His battle with cancer was short but fierce. Those who knew and loved him, know he much he put his heart and soul into anything he did, including his fight with cancer. Larry knew the cancer was a fierce adversary and had already made his peace with God and was ready to join Him when the time came.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Anne (nee Nicholas) Berry; daughter Mindy Tondreault (Michael); granddaughter Taylor Tondreault; mother Dolores (nee Seward) Berry; sister Deborah Schroh; nephew Jonathan Schroh; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Dixon and Linda Nicholas, brother-in-law, John Dixon; nieces Rebecca Dixon and Kathryn Dixon and nephews David Dixon and Alexander Nicholas. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Billy Eugene Berry.
Contributions to Larry’s memory can be made to DiveCare.org and SoldiersFreedomoutdoors.org reflecting his passion for scuba diving and his commitment to fellow veterans. The Grissom Funeral Home in Kissimmee, FL is assisting the family at this time.
Larry’s life was marked by his charismatic public speaking, his magical touch that brought wonder to many, and his deep love for adventure both above and below the water. His legacy will undoubtedly live on through his family, friends and the many lives he touched.
