My heart and the heart of the Eleázar family are crushed by this very sad news!
I go back to the times when She and Archie joined our family reunion - clan of Procopio and Josefina (Ely) Eleázar.  We were saddened when they stopped coming.  We miss them so much!!!  Baby and Mama had great times together!  Now they are together again!  I am so glad that Archie and Baby sold their waterfront condo to us which we keep enjoying since the 1980’s!!!
I feel so close to Baby.  I was planning to visit her this September when we are down for a conference in Orlando!

For now, our heart goes out to all she touched!  I am very happily surprised that Baby and I have the same middle name - Esmeralda!  She will be forever in my heart!

Archie, we miss your laughter!  You are in our thoughts!  We await your joining us in the Vineyard in June next year to bring us both of your uplifting spirits!

I spent many Thanksgivings with Tita Baby when I was in graduate school and when I lived in Manhattan.  So whenever I do see the Macy's Day parade on TV, I've always associated it with spending quiet mornings in her Garden City home. 

Adding a picture of us picking peaches during our family reunion in San Diego.  Tita Baby just bought one of my scarves and was always so stylish! Here she is with Tita Dulce, her niece Rachinee (me) and my daughter Mia. Its a sweet 3 generation picture that I love so much and wanted to share! 

Dear Tita Baby,

We are so sad that you have gone ahead. You have been a wonderful and special Tita to us - so approachable and always welcoming. We remember fondly how caring, attentive and kind you were to us whenever we visited you and Tito Archie in New York, how you generously went out of your way to show us around New York, cook for us, get us things we liked, and simply spend quality time with us, always with a warm smile on your face. Thank you so much, Tita Baby!  We are forever grateful.

We feel so lucky and blessed that on Dan's visit to you this May, we were still able to talk to you, play Filipino and church songs on the piano for you, sing with you and laugh with you one more time. We truly miss you!

May the good Lord always hold you in the palm of His Hand and may Eternal Light shine upon you.

I am Letty Limcaoco, married to Enteng Limcaoco, very good friends of Baby and Archie. Baby and I were classmates in medical school and I have always admired her for her politeness, kindness, considerateness and loving concern for her friends. Her husband Archie is also a good friend of my husband Enteng. We always spent many happy times together in our personal and professional life.  We shall miss her terribly. We offer our condolences and prayers to Sylvia and her dad and and all the remaining Eleazar and Laano families, their relatives and friends

I was supposed to fly out today to attend Tita Baby's service but illnesses prevented us from coming.  I will always cherish the time we spent together last month (May 18-21) as we sang, as we visited, as we prayed 🙏.  What an honor it was to help usher her into heaven! I love and miss you already Tita Baby. We'll help get Tito Archie back to Tayabas as he wishes. 


We were all very saddened and greatly surprised when Baby passed away June 9.  I had just arrived the night before in the US in order to visit her and say a long goodbye.  On the day she left us, she had a good meal then had a very good video chat with the family She was quite alert, lucid and responsive.  And that was a sweet goodbye.    She left us all in God’s time and we were both sad but relieved that she has  finally been released from her illness and suffering. 
I so miss her and our frequent phone conversations.  
To quote a favorite line from Hamlet:
“Now cracks a noble heart. 
Good-night, sweet (sister); 
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. ”
I love you very much, Baby! Rest In peace and joy with God and our family now!

Baby and I came to the States a year apart,  in the early 60’s.  We were the only ones from the family in the US at that time.  We’ve gotten quite close,  and spent our vacations together,  and visiting each other’s homes. She was always there for free medical consultations.  I don’t know of anyone that is as kind and sweet as Baby.  It is amazing that we never quarreled  during all these years!     Thank you Baby for being there for me,  and for the fun times we had together.  You will be sorely missed.        Dulce

To Baby...It is with sadness mixed with joy that I say goodbye. Sadness because you will no longer be with us joining family reunions and enjoying each other. Joy- because you are in a better place which Jesus has prepared to those who love Him and have a relationship with Him. I can only imagine what this place is like called heaven. To quote the song which my 3-year old apo sings... surrounded by your glory - what will my heart feel, will I dance for you Jesus or will I be still. Will I stand in your presence. Will I sing Alleluiah or will I be able to speak at all.... I can only imagine! 
     Baby, you will be able to worship God forever and enjoy joy and peace without end. I can only imagine while in this life. See you soon.
