Mary Martinez

May 23, 1933 – August 30, 2025
Obituary of Mary Martinez
IN THE CARE OF

Grissom Funeral Home and Crematory

Mary Martinez, a spirited and loving woman who touched countless lives, passed away on August 30, 2025. Born on May 23, 1933 in Manhattan, New York. She was raised in the City, and carried her vibrant “100% New Yorker” energy throughout her life, bringing warmth, laughter, and kindness to everyone she met.

After moving to Osceola County, Mary dedicated herself to volunteer service through the Osceola Council on Aging. She gave generously of her time as a Senior Companion and Kid Companion, supported the office staff during meetings, coordinated the packing of the Osceola County Gazette, and helped neighbors navigate important paperwork. Mary also brought people together by hosting weekly Bingo gatherings, lending her creativity as a party coordinator, and embracing friendship and fun as a proud member of the Red Hat Ladies.

Mary’s heart for service and community was matched only by her joyful spirit. She was known for her kindness, enthusiasm, and ability to make every person feel valued. She was a “young” senior, always full of life, energy, and love, leaving behind a legacy of generosity and connection.

She was an absolute wonderful mother, who gave her daughters Rozelyn Powell (RIP) and Yvonne Clark unconditional love and support throughout her life. She cherished her grandchildren, Alexandra Wolfring, Heather Grant and Darrell Grant. She was the happiest Great Grandmother to three boys, Tyler, Maison and Luke Anthony. She lovingly expressed her love for her entire family members, including her nieces, nephews and stepchildren.

In her last years she was cared for by her daughter, Yvonne and son in law, Tommy Lewis Clark. She was the Queen of the castle and she expressed her gratitude constantly.

She will be remembered not only for her volunteerism but also for her genuine compassion and beautiful soul—qualities that made her loved by everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.
