Mrs. Mary Ruth (Higgins) Bowman McCullers of Kissimmee, FL passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at her home. Born February 27, 1930 in Hixson, TN, she was the daughter of the late James Virgil Higgins and the late Lydia Stulce Higgins. Mary Ruth was an animal lover and was a cosmetologist for many years at Eckerd Drugs in Daytona. “Aunt Ruth” was loved by everyone.
She is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Walter James McCullers of Kissimmee; her nieces, Kim Henneke-Singer and Jeri Thompson-Perry; and her nephews, Kenneth Friar, James Rogers, William Higgins, Dennis Higgins, Sid Rogers, Jeff Thompson, and Jamie Higgins.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2012 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012 in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Grizzard officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
