

Michael DeMeo, 74, of Haines City, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in East Boston, Massachusetts, Michael carried the spirit of his hometown with him throughout his life—resilient, warm, and full of heart.
A proud veteran, Michael served his country in the United States Army with honor. After retiring from the military, he brought his dedication and work ethic to Disney and later to the Hilton Orlando, where he was known for his kindness, reliability, and ever-present smile.
Michael’s greatest passion was giving back. He found deep joy in volunteering, always ready to lend a hand or brighten someone’s day. He also loved the thrill of gambling, the adventure of cruising, and most of all, spending time with his beloved family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Maureen DeMeo; his loving daughter, Julie DeMeo-Pierce, and her husband Barry Pierce; and his cherished grandchildren, Danielle Martinez and her husband Luis Martinez, and Jakob Pierce. Michael also leaves behind his siblings Anna Pierce (Kenny Pierce), Nancy McCreedy (Danny McCreedy), Patty McDonald, William McDonald and his fiancé Darlene Healey, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his mother Marcella McDonald, and stepfather William McDonald (aka Big Mac), his father Sam DeMeo and his sister, Michelle Smiddy, her husband, Joe Smiddy, survives her.
Michael will be remembered for his generous spirit, his unwavering love for his family, and his zest for life. His legacy lives on in the laughter he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories that will forever warm the hearts of those who knew him.
