

Nils Richard (Bud) Magnusson, 85, a beloved brother and uncle, died of natural causes August, 4, 2013. Nils was born March 9, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York. After the death of his father, Erick, his mother Charlotte moved her three sons to Fort Wayne, Indiana. He spent his youth there, graduating from Fort Wayne Central High School in 1946. He enlisted in the USAF in 1950 serving until 1954. His service included deployments in England and Germany. After receiving his honorable discharge, he relocated to Kissimmee, Florida, to start working with his oldest brother John at Mansfield's Standard Oil at 421 Broadway. This later became Key's Service Station, a Kissimmee landmark. His brother and he opened Bud & John's Gulf located on the NW corner of Main and Vine. Their brother, Eric joined them and their business ventures eventually became Bud & John's Air Conditioning and Heating Headquarters on West Vine Street. Bud was known for his tenacious work ethic and his ability to construct fiberglass ductwork.
Bud was preceded in death by his brother John, sister-in-law Jean and nephew James. He is survived by his brother, Eric, niece Joan, nephews John and Jeff, two grand nieces, two great grand nieces, and one great grand nephew. His request after cremation is that his ashes be scattered at sea.
