Born on October 5, 1962, Sylvia lived a life defined by compassion, resilience, and joy. She was the unwavering foundation of her family, a woman whose strength and warmth lifted everyone around her. Her children were her greatest pride, and she supported them with boundless love, fierce loyalty, and a quiet courage that never wavered.
She had a laugh that could light up a room and a sense of humor that reminded us all not to take life too seriously. Whether it was a witty remark, a playful tease, or a perfectly timed joke, she knew how to bring joy even in the most ordinary moments.
Kindness was her language. She gave freely—her time, her wisdom, her heart. She welcomed others with open arms and made everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. Her love for life was contagious.
Sylvia leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and grace. She will be deeply missed by her children, Erika Hagen, and Ransom Ford, by her grandchild Tatianha, her brother Peter Blumberg, and her extended family, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the memories we cherish.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ASPCA, a reflection of her great love for animals.
Rest well, Mom. You were our light, our laughter, our home.
