Mr. Auchampaugh is fondly remembered for being my gym teacher at Jefferson Elementary school form 1970-1975. The best was when he broke out the HUGE crab soccer ball on those rare, but fun occassions! Oh, and the exposure to square dancing! Didn't care for much it back then (boy cooties), but I have lots of fun with it now, and Mr. A is always fondly remembered each time I go contra-dancing. His smile and his good-naturedness is unforgettable! My thoughts and prayers to the family and I hope you will find comfort and peace in your good memories of a kind man.

Coach Auchampaugh taught us to play soccer in eight grade at Jefferson then coached us on Schalmont's first soccer team for the next four years. They were wonderful memories and I owe to him my love of the game. I speak of him often as a coach who cared enough to teach these young teenage boys something new. Henry Brown Schalmont 1961
