William Peter Cordes, Sr., 86, of Kissimmee, Florida, passed away April 15, 2011. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey on February 16, 1925, he was the son of William and Rose Schmidt Cordes. Mr. Cordes was a postal worker for the United States Postal Service and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Mr. Cordes was also a United States Naval veteran.Mr. Cordes was predeceased by his son William P. Cordes, Jr. and his doggie Lucky. He is survived by grandchildren Brittany and Ryan Cordes, niece, Harriet (Ed) Hayes,nephew William (Linda) Mora, nephew William (Rosanne) Wilson, great-nephew Billy Wilson and great-nieces Leigh Ann Wilson, Jennifer and Kristen Hayes and Christine Morales. A memorial will be held Wednesday, April 20 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home and Crematory, 803 Emmett Street, Kissimmee 34741 (407) 847.3131 with Pastor Peter J. Zieg officiating. Final disposition will take place at Woodlawn Crematory, Gotha, Florida. Services entrusted to GRISSOM FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY/ KISSIMMEE.
