Mrs. Schwantz and Family

I was very saddened to hear of Chief Schwantz passing. I wish I would have found out sooner as I definetely would have made the trip to attend his funeral. Chief Schwantz came to our Police Service in 1978 at a time where we needed strong leadership and professionalism and he delivered on both counts.
Chief Schwantz gave me my first promotion in 1981and by doing this,he opened other doors that allowed me to have a very satisifying and rewarding career with theTimmins Police Service. I thought of him often over the years, while I was still on the Service and even after I retired. He was a true leader and he certainly wore his uniform proudly, something I tried to emulate every time I wore mine.  He accomplished many goals while he was our Chief during the 8 years he was in charge of our Police Service and left his mark. We were sad to see him retire but he successfully righted the ship and left our Service in a much better position going forward .I thank him for that and salute him for all he accomplished in policing in general.

Dear Betty, Glen and Valerie,
We are so sad to hear of Floyd's passing. He was truly a wonderful man. Floyd was like a father to Ellard. Ellard often speaks of how if it weren't for Floyd he wouldn't be the man he is today. Our 3 children hold Floyd in very high regard, much like a grandfather. He taught Amy some math quizes that really made her think. She loved to listen to his discussions on world issues. David wished he could have spent time learning to hunt with him, and Jack was amazed by him. As a police officer myself I often think "What would Floyd do?" We all have so much respect and love for him and will miss him dearly!

I'm so sorry to hear of Floyd's passing.
When I first met him, our friendship was based on butter tarts. Over the years at the hunt camp, his poetry, song, stories and love of life will stay with me forever. Thank you for sacrificing those weeks each year, that I truely enjoyed sharing with him.

Dear Betty and Family.

How sorry I am to hear of Floyd's passing. He was one of my favourite people.
It was such a pleasure living below you. Floyd taught me how to play chess and shoot a pistol and rifle.
The two of you were always so pleasant and helpful. I enjoyed Boots too. I will never forget you both.
