
SCHWANTZ, Floyd Passed away at Wellington Hospice on July 10, 2012 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of 60 years to Betty Schwantz. Dear father of Glenn Schwantz (Cheryl Gaudet and daughter Taylor) and Valerie Scherer (Rick and daughter Jessica). Survived by his brother Earl Schwantz, brother-in-law Harold Harmer (Elaine) and sisters-in-law Gloria Schmidt and Alice Schwantz. Predeceased by his brothers William and Arthur. Floyd began his career with the Kitchener Police Department before becoming Chief of Police in Georgetown and then Chief of Police in Timmins, retiring in 1986 in Orrville, Ontario. He was a long time member of the Masonic Lodge, the Rotary Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman. A Memorial Service will take place at Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton Street, Kitchener on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
