Ida Diebold

Peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 11th, 2012 at Grand River Hospital ….. Ida was a dear, kind soul. She was the quintessential grandma. In spite of her diminutive size she was a very strong, independent person who prided herself on being able to do things for herself, even into her nineties. One of her greatest joys was caring for her garden. She touched the hearts of everyone she met.

She will be sadly missed by her sons, Ron, Don and Bryan, their wives, Terrill, Jane and Jennifer, by her grandchildren, Jane Kloepfer (Jason), Robyn (Rick Reid), Thomas and Rachel and by her great-granddaughter, Ashley Kloepfer.

Ida was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Gilbert; by her parents Gustav Behm and Annie Millark and by her siblings Lena Behm, Eddie Behm and Myrtle Mielke. Her stepsister, Erna Belair, and many brothers and sisters-in-law survive her.

Mrs. Diebold’s family will receive friends and relatives at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton at Church St., Kitchener on Monday, February 20th, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to follow in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, February 21st, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.

Interment: Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
