September 06, 1926 – June 19, 2010
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Theresa Logel say farewell to their beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Lisaard House on Saturday June 19, 2010 after a long and courageous battle against cancer. Theresa worked alongside her husband, Clarence Logel to build their family business; Logel’s Auto Parts in Kitchener, where she worked until she retired in 1990.
For over fifty years she spent her summers at her trailer in Southampton where she made many friends. She lived a full, caring and selfless life. She was a great blessing to all who met her. Commonly known as our “Mother Theresa”.
Survived by her children Patricia Woelfle (James), John Logel (Darlene), Sheila Lucas (George) and Brenda Moffatt. Grandmother to Steven, Kim, Tammy, Jamie, Kelly, Chad, Penny, John Jr., and Luke. Loving Great Grandmother to her nine little ones. She will be missed by her surviving sisters Loretta Smith (Ken) and Rita Dietrich (Ali). Predeceased by her parents, Emil and Olive Strub, two sisters: Rose and Laura, one granddaughter Denise McCracken, and two great grandchildren: Mitchell and Makayla Hergott. Theresa’s greatest joy in her life was her family. She will live on forever in our hearts and our smiles.
Many thanks to so many family and friends. Thanks to Dr. Robert Kitzul and nurse, Mary. Dr. Tam, nurse Delaney and staff at the Grand River Cancer Centre. Thanks to Dr. Keleher and his nurses. A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at the Lisaard House for making her final days comfortable and peaceful. All of the care giving mentioned about is truly a community exercise of God’s love.
Theresa will be resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home 621 King Street West on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Ed Sheridan at Our Lady of Lourdes, RC Church, Waterloo, on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., cremation to follow with interment of ashes at St. Agatha Catholic Cemetery.
