David R. Edwards, age 74, of Sevierville, went home to Jesus on November 22, 2019. David was born on October 28, 1945 in Miami, Florida to William and Eula Edwards. He received a call into the Gospel ministry at the age of 18 and upon graduation from high school attended Apostolic Bible College in St. Paul, MN. After college he served three years at his home church in Miami and was called as an Associate Pastor in Columbus, Ohio for two and a half years. David was called to Delaware, Ohio where he served as Pastor for five years. In 1976 David and his wife Ruth and children were appointed as missionaries to the Iberian Peninsula pastoring three churches in Lisbon, Portugal. Upon returning to the States he pastored churches in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and Cocoa, Florida. In 1982 David and family began their term to serve as missionaries in West Germany for four years. In 1987 he took the Senior Pastor at Tri-County Pentecostal Church in Cutler, Illinois. Due to health reasons he retired from active ministry and retired to Sevierville, Tennessee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ruth Edwards; daughter, Rachel Lynn Edwards Peavey and husband Timothy (Buck) Peavey; son, Jonathan David Edwards and wife Cynthia Edwards; grandson, Joshua David Alexander Edwards.
