Alfred "Bert" West

WEST, ALFRED BURTON - age 73 went to be with the Lord he so dearly loved and to be reunited with all loved ones and his friends. He was a member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly, Knoxville, TN where he served as a Deacon for 45 years. He honored and served God through his singing Ministry as a Sunday School Teacher and Music Director. Bert was a veteran and proudly served his country. He was a proud member of Masons. He dedicated his life to God, Family and Friends. He has meant so much too so many and will be profoundly missed. He is preceded in death by his grandson Mitch Dodson, parents Bill and Lela West, brothers; Carlos West, George Ervin West, sister; Patsy West. Survived by loving and dedicated wife of 51 years Marian West. Son and daughter-in-law Martin and Sherry West. Daughters and sons-in-law Kim West, Renee and Chas Terry,sister; Sandra and Dallas Green, granddaughters;Alicia(Mark)Newhouse, Kayla(Zach)Ragsdale, Martina(R.K.)Sturgill, Whitney(Sam)Lawson. Grandsons; C.J.and Skylar Terry. Great grandchildren Alexis Ragsdale , Eli Sturgill and due in two weeks, Weston Newhouse. Family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Weavers. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday at Church of God Union Assembly, with burial to follow at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. Rev. David Simmons officiating.
