Aunt Alice was an amazing woman! We met by chance one day when a little dog was wondering in the middle of Boyd's Creek Hwy in front of her house when I was driving by. I stopped to coax it off of the road and knocked on her door to ask if the dog was hers. She said no, so I thanked her and proceeded to go further to find it's owner. A few months past, but I couldn't forget this sweet stranger who had answered her door that day. You see, I had recently lost my mother and I felt a strong desire to go back to her door to ask if I could be a friend. So, I got the courage up to knock on her door again and ask her if there was anything I could do for her. She answered, "Yes, you can remove that skunk that got run over and is stinking everytime I come outside."😄I said, "I'll take care of it." So I did. From there, we became good friends. She enjoyed my visits and I surely enjoyed visiting and getting to know this precious soul! Through the years, because she could not quite pronounce my name, I told her to just call me the skunk lady.😊What a joy she had become to me through my grieving the loss of both of my parents, 4 months apart.
Aunt Alice was a remarkable lady with a caring heart and truly a heart for the Lord, most of all.
She shared many stories. We sat and watched the gospel quartets on Saturday afternoons, and whenever my husband was able, we would come with a hymnal and sing to her, and she with us; the old time hymns she so dearly loved. She will be missed, but I also am thankful she finally got her wish. She often talked about being re-united with her beloved Arnold. What a wonderful testimony she lived! What a wonderful blessing she was to all who knew her! What a wonderful friend she was to me! Rest in peace, dear friend. We love you dearly.

So sorry to hear of ms Alice’s passing. I loved her dearly. She was always so kind to me called me checking on how I was. She was a great women of God who never took her eyes off of him. She will be missed by many .

Dear Alice was my neighbor when I was growing up in Boyd’s Creek/Seymour. Alice would always take me to Oak City Vacation Bible School every year, as my parents worked. She also taught my Sunday School since I can remember. One of the fondest memories I have of Alice is her homemade pimento cheese she made. When I was probably 4 or 5 years old ( I am 65 now) I would visit Alice since she lived across the street. One day she made me a sandwich of her pimento cheese to This was the greatest stuff I had ever ate. She gave my mother the recipe and I continue to make her pimento cheese. She also told me bible stories and talk about her faith everyday that we were together. She would always remind me that Jesus died on the cross for me. Alice is definitely one amazing child of God! Alice, Go Rest High on that Mountain ! Well done faithful servant!

Mrs Alice was a dear friend and I loved her and she loved me.  She was an encouraging, caring and loving person who was a bold warrior for her Lord and Savior.  I will always remember her and will miss her, but I know she is home with the Lord.

I had the opportunity to set with Ms Alice after she broke her hip. It was a blessing to know her.

Mrs. Reed was one of the finest ladies God put on this earth.  She will be missed.

Alice Plemons Reed was a Friend that My Husband and I would Visit when we Lived in Seymour, and I Valued Knowing Her. She told Me Stories of Herself and Arnold when they Helped Build Oak City Baptist Church. She told Me about My Grandmother, as Her Best Friend was Lela Clark Parrott Helton, the Sister of My GrandMother. She told Me about Jepp Helton, Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church and Teas that She and Lela would have. She told Me, about My Grandmother Walking Her Boys to Shiloh Baptist Church from Happy Creek.
She knew My Grandfather George William Shelby Parrott, and how he kept the Small Farm they Owned and Cut Fields of Hay for Others. She told Me where Jepp Helton is Buried, as He was a Teacher at Harrison Chilhowee School. She knew My Grandfather's Niece, Tobeina Bailey, as they were Friends, My Cousin that Lives across from Her on Boyd's Creek at Harrison Chilhowee Road.  It was Great to Her her Talk about Old Times, and about Their Store in Wildwood. She was always a Well Spoken Woman that Shared Her knowledge of the Bible and Shared Her Nightly Prayer from Psalms, create in me a clean heart
and She was Loving. I once took her a Dress for this very occasion.
It was White but too Short for her liking. She quickly told me that She and Her Boys, David and Lamar had picked out her clothes.
She was a bit upset with me but I had chosen a Lavender Woven Jacket for her arms and told her that Her Legs would be in covered. She didn't want to see it.
I had crossed a boundary that was filled by Her Boys. She Shared that She and Arnold had Left Everything to the Orphans Home in Sevierville, and She hoped All would Understand.
She was a Legacy. Her History Should be Documented and Shared as She was a Deserving Bride. She gave her Life to Build Churches in Sevierville, and Seymour. She and Her Husband Arnold, Lived God's Word, and Spread God's Word in the areas of Sevierville, Seymour, and Blount County's Wildwood area. 
I am Blessed to have known Alice.

One fine lady. Love & prayers during this difficult tome.

Sending my love and condolences to the family. Aunt Alice is now with her Lord and Savior. I will cherish the memories we shared.
