

Gibbs, Alyce Ann Hood, age 75, of South Knoxville, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2010, at her home. She was a Knoxville native, a Young High graduate and an employee of the Tennessee Department of Human Services for eighteen years. She and her devoted husband, Jim, enjoyed square dancing and their grandchildren. She was member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Haven and Dora Jordan Hood. She is survived by her high school sweetheart of 56 years, Jim (Pops) Gibbs; daughters, Janice Zartman and Karen and her husband, David Myers. Her grandchildren are Jay and wife, Megan Zartman, Kevin Zartman, Kelly Myers and Katie Myers. She also leaves her sisters, Dr. Evelyn Muldowny, currently of Louisiana and Polly and husband, Dewey Lee; nephews, Lloyd (Buddy) Lee, Jr., Dr. Richard Lee, Steven Muldowny and Dr. David Muldowny. Family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2010, in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 4:00 p.m., Pastor Laura Rasor officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Zartman, Kevin Zartman, Buddy Lee, Dr. Richard Lee, Steven Muldowny, Dr. David Muldowny, Dr. Farris Jordan and Phil Keener. Entombment will be private.
