She was of the Baptist faith.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Walter (Bud) Maples; parents; James Helms and Dollie Hunt and brother, Johnny Cooper.
She is survived by son, Allen (Sandy) Surgenor; daughters, Tesia (Mike) Glenn and Misty (Tim) Williams; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A receiving of friends and family for Barbara will be held Monday, August 19, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the chapel of McCarty - Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Highway, Knoxville, TN 37924.
Family and friends will meet Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Pollard Cemetery, Kodak, TN for a 11:00 AM graveside Service.
