She was born to the late Casper and Doris Gentry, May 24, 1945, in Lower Marion Township, Pennsylvania.
Survivors include child, Richard J. Wright & wife, Heather; stepchildren, Glenn Wright and Carol Wright Davis; sister, Roxie Tremonti; ten grandchildren; and her adorable dog, Dolly.
She married the late Richard D. Wright in 1970, and they lived together in White Lake, Michigan, Kodak, Tennessee and finally Sun City Center, Florida.
Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband in 2016. She was also predeceased by her son, Robert Wright of Michigan; and stepson, Richard D. Wright II of Tennessee.
Barbara was an accomplished piano teacher, teaching privately for many years. Later in life she became an excellent painter, learned to play the ukulele, and started an online eBay business. Barbara was not one to sit still and was always planning. She had a wicked sense of humor and a ‘tell it like it is’ style that could be both grating and admirable, but Barbara was loyal, above all. She stayed by her husband’s side through good times, and hard, right up until his passing. She loved her children and regularly talked with them. She did her best to make sure no one stayed a stranger. She was quick to laugh, eager to live life, and a devoted wife and mother.
Per her wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held in Tennessee. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Friday, April 21, 2023 at McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Highway, Knoxville TN 37924, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 12:00 PM.
