Bennie Crockett Dotson
August 18, 1928 – January 17, 2023

Bennie Crockett Dotson, age 94, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Bennie was born August 18, 1928 in Bluefield, West Virginia.
Preceded in death by parents, Margie Anna and Elbert Stuart Dotson, Sr.; daughter, Debbie Stander; grandson, Brandon Davenport; as well as 8 of his 9 siblings.
Bennie leaves behind his loving wife of 69 years, Agnes J. Dotson; daughter, Sandy Davenport (Brad); grandsons, Ryan (Kristi) and Garret Stander, Derek and Devin Davenport; great-grandson, Declan Davenport; great-granddaughters, Ella Brent and Sage Stander.
Mr. Dotson attended Bluefield Business College and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He moved to Knoxville in 1961 and was the comptroller of Stowers Machinery for 35 years. Bennie was a longtime member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. He was always active in many activities and organizations, such as: Senior Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, Census, GSMNP Trail Rehabilitation, softball for church league, senior league, and Stower's league. Bennie also enjoyed spending his time gardening and being with his family.
Family and friends will meet at Greenwood Cemetery at 10:45 AM for an 11:00 AM graveside service Friday, January 20, 2023, officiated by Pastor Keith Vaughan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East Tennessee Children's Hospital in Bennie's honor.
