Bennie L. Lane

Bennie L. Lane, age 85, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. He was a 1958 graduate of Young High School. Bennie retired as a Technical Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He also retired from Knoxville Area Transit after 22 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ella Sue Lane; parents, Robert and Estelle Lane; brothers: Bobby, Hobert, Bill and Donald; and sisters: Reva and Grace.

Bennie is survived by his children: Brian (Cathy) Lane, Chris Lane, Greg (Kristi) Lane, and Shannon (Rocky) Glenn; grandchildren: Aidan, Ben, Duncan, Julia, Sam, Cynthia, Gavin, Geoffrey and Lauren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, August 16, 2024 in the parlors of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Woodlawn Cemetery for an 11:00 AM graveside service, Rev. Rocky Glenn officiating.
