Berniatine Isabelle Champion

Berniatine "Bernie" Isabelle Champion passed on August 27, 2026, at the age of 80. She retired from Eagle Distributing after 30 years of service. Bernie was a longtime member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Seymour, TN. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

Preceded in death by her father and mother, Clarence and Omiatine Atherton; and husband, George Champion.

She is survived by her son, Edward "Ted" Champion; daughter, Elizabeth "Betsy" Montgomery (David); grandson, Joseph Montgomery; as well as a host of loving family members.

Family will receive friends from 5:30 - 6:30 PM on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at St. Paul Episcopal Church, 1028 Boyds Creek Hwy, Seymour, TN 37865, with a memorial service to follow at 6:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Episcopal Church in Bernie's honor, P.O. Box 907 Seymour, TN 37865.
