OBITUARY

Betty Sue Alexander

February 2, 1930January 2, 2021

Betty Sue Sells Alexander passed away peacefully in her South Knoxville home of 50 years on January 2, 2021 just shy of her 91st birthday. She was one of five children born in Chattanooga to Alfred “Rowdy” and Janie Sells on February 2, 1930. She is proceeded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Raleigh Alexander, sisters Dora and Geraldine Sells and brother Albert Jr “Buster” Sells. She is survived by her sister Mary Jane (Dean) Heavener, daughter Rene (Terry) Hipp, son Wesley (Shan) Alexander, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She loved her family well unto the end.

Betty was a faithful member of Colonial Heights Methodist Church for almost 60 years until she was no longer able to attend. She enjoyed reading Scripture and praying as well as Bridge, quilting, cross stitching, puzzles, cake baking and the UT Vols as well as her babies, the dogs she nurtured through the years. She was also a faithful friend and neighbor to many and like a second mother to Jack and Jason Hill.

Our family wants to thank all her friends and relatives who have been a vibrant part of her life. We grieve but not as without hope, but with full assurance that all who trust in Jesus Christ will be reunited with her again.

Betty will be buried with her husband at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
