

Betty Jean Dyer, age 90, passed away on December 9th, in Knoxville. She was the daughter of Frank and Ola Jourdan. Betty worked for many years as the candle maker at Silver Dollar City and Dollywood. She was loved by everyone, and had the reputation as being the sweetest lady around. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Clarence Dyer; and her siblings, Omelie Long and F.M. Jourdan. Betty is survived by three daughters, Gail and Douglas Hubbard, Cathy and Carlos De La Cuesta, Jeanine and Mark Swientoniewski, of Knoxville; and one son, Clarence and Brigitte Dyer, of Pigeon Forge; five grandchildren, Bart Phillips and wife, Mary, Logan Dyer and wife, Kate, Linzy Nicely and husband, Ian, Lauren and Molly Swientoniewski; seven great-grandchildren; as well as a large extended family. A memorial service will be held at Weaver Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday. Burial will follow the funeral at Asbury Cemetery, at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday. 5100 Asbury Cemetery Rd, Knoxville, TN 37914.
