

Betty Geraldine Campbell Fayet, 94, went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was born on April 1, 1931, in Harlan, Kentucky, the daughter of Pleas and Bessie Campbell.
Betty had two blessed marriages that happened to stay in the Fayet family. Her first husband was Clifford Fayet. They had two children later in life and had a wonderful life together in Illinois and Georgia. Betty married her second husband, Edward Fayette several years after Cliff’s passing and enjoyed many years living in Georgia and finally South Carolina. She cherished her family, especially her sisters—Joyce Bogart, Juanita Meiller, and Evelyn Pressley—all of whom preceded her in death. She also doted on many special nieces and nephews.
Betty had a passion for travel, visiting many states and countries throughout her life. She was also a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox and the University of Tennessee, cheering on her teams with unwavering enthusiasm.
Betty is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly (Anton) Whiley of Hong Kong, and Traci (Chris) Hardin of Columbia, SC. She was a proud and loving grandmother to her four grandchildren, Timothy Whiley, Anne-Marie Whiley, Tyler Hardin, and Georgi Hardin.
Family and friends will gather to honor the memory of Betty, with a funeral service at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920, on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., a private internment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Betty's honor to one of her favorite charities she loved, St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
