Betty Jo Knight

Betty Jo (Noe) Knight, age 90, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Heritage Assisted Living-Fountain City. Born in Knox, Tennessee, to Hunley and Myrtle York Noe, Betty was a woman of steadfast faith and unwavering devotion to her family. She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church, where she found community and spiritual comfort throughout her life. Betty was a proud 1952 graduate of Young High School and later completed her education at Coopers Business College, preparing her for a life of diligence and accomplishment. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 31 years, James Harold Knight, and her parents, Hunley and Myrtle Noe. Betty was also preceded by her brothers Everett (Bernice), Winford (Joyce), Melvin (Ernestine), Fred (Virginia), Troy (Bonnie), and Hubert Noe. Betty leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughter Beverly Sue (Clayton) Cox; step-daughters Patricia (Lynn) Buckholder and Janice (Richard) Costa; grandchildren Shana (Ron) Gaines, Jason (Elissa) Cox, and great-grandchildren; Abigail Gaines, Ellia and Kaleb Cox. Each of them carries with them the memory of her kindness, wisdom, and strength. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Heritage Assisted Living in Fountain City for their exceptional care and support. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Betty's life at Berry Funeral Home, located at 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920, on Thursday, May 22nd, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. The family will meet at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920, for a brief service starting promptly at 8:30 AM on Friday, May 23rd, 2025.
