McPHERSON, BETTY RUTH, 84, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 8, 2013 after a long illness. Betty was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, H. G. McPherson, Jr.; parents, Arthur and Ollie (Kennedy) Sliger; brother, Bill Sliger; sisters, Wilma Jones and Pauline Sharp; grandson-in-law, Robert Scott.
Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Larry G. and Charlotte A. McPherson; granddaughters, Kelly McPherson Scott and Kimberly and husband, Jon Cope; great-granddaughter, Jordan Vandergriff; sister, Lorene Speer and sister-in-law, Jo Sliger.
Friends may call at convenience on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 2-5 P.M. at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Highland Memorial Cemetery for a 2 P.M. graveside service with Rev. Hobbs officiating.
