I am sorry to be so late in extending my condolences to the Warren family; I was in the hospital last week and did not have my computer.  I am so sorry to hear of Betty's death.  She and Walter were wonderful to me, my mother (Caunitta Davis) and my family during their membership at Graystone.  I think I even attended their wedding when I was a young girl in Graystone, but I remember them as part of my life....she is now at peace - you have wonderful memories.

Ms. Warren was a great teacher and this is just a sad loss as she will be greatly missed by all of the students that were privileged to have her as a teacher.  My thoughts and prayers are with all the family......Roger Monday

Mrs. Warren was our history teacher at YHS (Class of '73).  She will be remembered for the interest in history that she sparked in many of her students and for the respect she had for all of her students.  We learned much more than just history in her class and will always be grateful that she chose to give her life to teaching.  Our prayers are with her family during this difficult time.

Many people leave this earth without leaving a legacy. This is not true about Mrs. Warren. She was my history teacher at Young High School. She was an excellent teacher. I respected her as a person and as a teacher. Rosemary, I am sorry about your mom. She was a great lady and I feel quite certain you are too. I was so sorry to hear about Mrs. Warren's passing. I had her at YHS (class of '74). She would make you think and refused to take "I don't know" for an answer. My prayers are with you during this time.

I knew Betty,better known as Miss Betty,through First Presbyterian Parents' Day Out Program.After retiring from teaching, instead of traveling the world or taking up golf she chose to continue teaching children just beginning their first school experience. Miss Betty will always be remembered as a teacher who gave it her all even as far as going out for a pass thrown by a four year old and tumbling down but coming up with a caught ball. She had much to give to her young charges and for her love and care to them there were many thankful parents. months to ask about Betty. I last saw her at Baptist Hosp. when your dad

Our family was saddened to hear of Mrs. Warren's passing.  She was a dear family friend. My mother Sue Sharp thought the world of her. She and Betty had many comforting conversations and after my mothers terminal diagnosis the conversations they had took on a deeper meaning to them both. They both were so special.  I hope that God brings this family some peace in this difficult time.  I also know without a shadow of doubt that my mom was in heaven waiting on her dear friend so that they could live in peace and comfort in Gods everlasting promise.  God Bless to you all.

Mrs. Warren was a Great teacher, mother and terrific neighborhood friend to all in South Knoxville and the Scottish Pike/Blount Ave community.  To all the family please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.  As you know my mother, Sue Sharp, thought the world of Betty. They did alot of comforting of each other during phone calls and after moms diagnosis their conversations meant even more to each other. I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Mrs. Warrens family for their loss. Though I don't recall having her as a teacher, I was very fortunate to get to know Mrs. Warrens daughters (Rosemary and Julia) through their service to the school (Track and Field, Cross Country teams). They were exceptional young ladies who gave unselfishly of their time and talents to both Young and South-Young High Schools which I'm sure made their mother very proud. Mrs. Warren was among one of my favorite teachers at Young High School. She was friendly, firm, and fair. She cared about her students and challenged us to work to our potential and then some. Mrs. Warren taught me many things about life and she was respected by her students. As a teacher myself, I believe she played a role in teaching me how to effectively relate to my students by always being friendly, firm and fair. What a wonderful, influential teacher Mrs. Warren was. I will never forget American History class with her instructing us. She didn't take anything from us, and she gave us a lot in return - an education, and much needed direction in our teenage lives. May God be with her family in this time of loss.

I consider myself so blessed to have been able to work with "Miss Betty". All the children loved her at PDO (1st Presbyterian Church) We can't do one of our regular craft projects without remembering something Betty had done or said to make us laugh.

Mrs Warren was a very special teacher.  She could be tough but she also had a heart of gold.  My heart goes out to the family that she leaves behind but I am sure that they can find peace in knowing that Heavan gained another Angel yesterday to watch over them.
