Bill C. Harper, age 82, of South Knoxville went to be with Jesus his Lord and Savior on May 10, 2022. Bill was a 1958 graduate of Young High School and served in the US Air Force Reserves for four years and served active duty in Germany. Bill worked for many years and retired early from Knoxville Utilities Board where he was a Operations Supervisor. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, on numerous committees and was very active in disaster relief. He was a skilled carpenter and went on many mission trips to build churches.
Preceded in death by parents, Bruce D. and Reba Sauls Harper; sister, Helen Davis and Jackie Carolyn Harper; brothers, John, Jim and Max Harper.
Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Martha Harper; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Wayne Sims; grandchildren, Charles and Abby Sims; brother, Chester Harper and several sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, 5-7 pm, Friday, May 13, 2022 at Mount Olive Baptist Church with a celebration of life service to follow at 7 pm. Pastor Kirby Ownby officiating. Family and friends will meet 11 am, Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Mount Olive Cemetery for graveside services.
