Davis, Billie Henry-89 of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. Bill was a WWII Veteran and served in the Navy aboard the USS Fogg Destroyer Escort from 1942-1945. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Rockford Lodge. Bill owned and operated Volunteer Floor Covering, a building contractor and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by parents, Daisy Cordelia (Johnson) and Stewart Morocco Davis; sister, Elizabeth Pruitt; brothers, Buddy, Murrell, Joe and Jack. Bill is survived by wife of 72 years, Maxine (McDaniels) Davis; son, Richard and wife Louise; daughter, Billie Jean and husband Ted Esch; grandsons, Rusty (Nancye) Esch, Ricky (Lisa) Davis, Robby (Cheryl) Esch and B. J. Davis. Great grandchildren, Cody Davis, Spencer Davis and Katie Esch , Kari Rader, Steven Litton, Chelly (Kyle) Steadman, JoDee Schenk and Will Schenk; great great grandchildren, Sophia and Leo Steadman, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 pm in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. A memorial service will follow at 8:00pm with Rev. Joe Chandler and Jack Cooper officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 2500 Maryville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920.
