Billy Eugene Samuel, age 71, passed away on August 7, 2026. Born May 28, 1955, Billy was a resident of Knoxville, Tennessee. He will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection by all who had the privilege to know him.
Billy graduated from Seymour High School, Class of 1973, and carried forward the steady determination and work ethic that defined his life. A devoted and hard-working man, he took genuine pride in his work and especially loved being a truck driver—bringing reliability, perseverance, and a quiet sense of purpose to the road and to those who depended on him.
Above all, Billy cherished time spent with family. His presence was a constant source of comfort—beloved not only for his devotion, but also for the warmth of his humor, which could lighten a moment and leave a lasting smile. In the simple, meaningful rhythms of everyday life, he showed what it meant to be truly committed to the people he loved.
Billy also found joy in the pastimes that brought him peace and excitement. He loved football and was an avid Tennessee VOL fan. He also loved fishing, embracing the calm and patience it offered and the memories it helped create.
Billy was preceded in death by his father, Ben Samuel; his mother, Rachel Samuel; his brother, Tommy Samuel; and his sister, Lisa Samuel.
He is survived by his lifelong love, Vicki Coburn; step-sons, Robert Miller and Anthony Coburn; step-daughter, Kristy Bonny (Donald White); brothers, Benny Samuel (Marion) and Daryl Samuel; special caregiver, Doris Shelton; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held for Billy on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Berry Highland South Funeral Home, 9010 E Simpson Road, Knoxville, TN, 37920.
