Bob was much more than just a fellow teacher and coach.  He was a loyal friend who I had the privilege of spending  many  hours on trips on buses, hard bleacher seats, and hard beds at other schools for the Deaf on basketball trips.  Bob was one of the best hires I made during my years as Athletic Director and Supervising Teacher.  I liked to call him our staffs Attitude Adjuster.  The staff usually met in my office prior to starting their teaching day.  They usually left with a smile on their faces because of some story Bob would share.  I loved Bob as a brother and there is a deep hole in my heart at this time.









So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing.  He was a good neighbor and always had a kind word.  We were fortunate to live next to his sweet mother and saw him and Janet always walking their dogs.  Thinking of him and his family.  Very sweet man.

Bob was a spirited man whose good-natured antics and wonderful sense of humor marked his many years at TSD.  I once was fortunate to be on a school committee with Bob. What could have been a chore suddenly became fun when he walked through the door. We spent just as much time laughing as we spent actually working!   It seems that he approached life in much the same way. That's why we remember him as "sweet ol' Bob."-

May fonder memories of Bob soon bring you comfort during this time. I will truly miss him..., as much as I still miss Janet. They were wonderful people to work with. I still have mementos in my “Vol man cave” given to me from both of them that I will always cherish. Your family is in my prayers.

I have many sweet memories of Bobby as we grew up at Farragut School- he always had a smile on his face and was happy. Everybody loved him. But my most precious memories are of the past two years. Bobby never missed lunch at Lakeside Tavern with the class of 1968. I got to know the man Bobby M.  He loved his wife ( I’m so glad I got to meet her a few years ago) and he loved his boys. He also would usually share a story about his grandson. I loved his stories, we all did. Every time we would leave the Tavern he would thank us girls for getting  together  The class. He will be missed so much. 
    My thoughts and prayers will be with Bobby s precious family ,

My husband, Charley, and I are friends of Bobby’s from high school. He was always such a nice guy and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We are so sorry for your loss - our thoughts and prayers are with you. 

High School friends, Ran a lot together and spent a lot of time on the lake.  Very thankful we were at the last class picnic together!! I'll miss you my friend!!!

Officiated with Bob several years inDr.Bill Battles crew, bob kept us going with his humor and wit.  A pleasure to be have known bob .The crew had dinner together  three weeks ago,nice reunion ,laughing about our games and fellowship. we will miss him. Sincere condolences to family.     bill Fair

My deepest condolences to you and family for your loss!
From someone who lives to make people smile and spread the lighter side of life, I must say that I have yet to meet anyone that did this better than Bob. 
Every time our Wednesday group would draw the foursomes and better yet, the one I would ride with, I would be so happy to share the cart with Bob. Being around 
him was such a great experience as he was one continuous jokey kind of guy...... one that I try to be. His spontaneity was unmatched as he lit up the the faces of the whole group!
We’ll miss him so much!

Bob and I were classmates and friends at Farragut High.  We shared several classes through those years and many a laugh.  Bob was always ready with a joke or some quip which brought smiles to everyone’s face.  He loved everyone  and loved life.   After high school we each went our different ways and saw very little of each other until we reconnected again at the 50th class reunion.  He was still the same old Bob - ready with a joke and ready to love people and make them smile.   This world has lost a bright star who always brought light, laughter, and joy wherever he went.  I will always cherish the memories of Bob and count myself privileged to have been able to call him my friend.

Bob was dearly loved by students, staff and families. He always spread sunshine wherever he was.

One of Bob's favorite things was to walk into the gym when some of us were playing pickup basketball. Bob never played a game with  us; however he would usually walk to the half-court line, ask for the ball and shoot a "string music " shot. Then he would raise his hands, give us a "what's so hard about that" look, and walk out with an ear to ear smile. 

Bob left fond memories for all of us to enjoy. My prayers are with you, family and friends.

Dear Jason and Eric.  It was such an honor and blessing to know your mom and dad over the pasts 30 years.  Bob and Janet were always there for me (and my late wife Lorna ) and for that I’m forever grateful. Sweet Ole Bob (as your mom always said) can never be replaced....he truly was the best of the best.  I’m so sorry for your loss and please know Bob will live forever in my heart. He always made me smile. 🌞
