Brent was a life-long friend and a neighbor. He was always so helpful to us. He helped my grandparents in their later years and then me when I moved in after their passing. We moved a little over two years ago and he would still come and help me! He was truly a giving person. This is a picture I took of my boys with Brent on the day we moved. Thank you Brent for your generous helping hands Rest in peace my friend.

I did not know Mr. Roth but I was touched as I drove through Solway today. I saw the 3 engines and the crew on the roadside paying tribute and then the engines escorting the fallen firefighter to his final rest. Of course I and others pulled over in the southern tradition to pay our respects. God bless.

Brent was a gentle giant. He had one of the kindest disposition I have ever been around. We cut up and played pranks on each other for several years at the fire station. I even painted his fingernails blue while he slept one time. He woke up and almost got mad , he did say he was going to kill me as he chuckled and headed to try to get the polish off. His first shift we had two line laying house fires in South Knoxville. I gave him a hard time over it but he just smiled and chuckled. I guess within a week or so he was nicknamed SMILEY. No matter what went on he always just smiled and chuckled. We played board games, watched movies and for a while he was champion of the out side washer game. (Kinda like corn hole but with big metal washers) . Man im going to miss my friend, He made this life a happier place and the fire station alot of fun. Rest in peace brother, Stephen Lee
