

Calvin Clarence Stinnett, 69, of Kodak, departed this life to be with his Lord on March 16, 2017. He was a Marine Corp Veteran and served two tours in Viet Nam and retired Gunnery Sergeant. He was preceded in death by son, Wesley C. Stinnett; daughter, Samantha Blair; parents, Spencer M. and Trula L. Roberts Stinnett; brothers, Jimmy Stinnett, W.S Stinnett and wife Wanda; sisters, Leoma Stinnett, Lucille Covington, Estelle and Burl Wells; nephew Rickey Wells. Survived by wife of 53 years, Iva Gail Burchell Stinnett; daughters, Cynthia T. Turner, Brianna Stinnett; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Roland (Billie) Stinnett; several nieces and nephews; a host of extended family and special nephew Gregory Stinnett. The family will receive friends Monday, March 20, 2017 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Ashville Highway, service will follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Cleo Whaley officiating. Music by: Gods Chosen Ones. Family and friends will meet Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Salem Cemetery, corner of Smith School Road and King Drive, for a 1:00pm graveside service.
