He attended Ball Road Baptist Church when his health permitted. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, and he loved to travel when he was healthy enough to travel.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Thelma Stoakes.
He is survived by his wife, Lynnie; siblings, Susan (David) Bridges and Forrest; nieces, Susie Jeffries, Sandie (Rob) Rietman, Melanie (Omar) Chastain, Kim Jaske, and Erin Jaske; nephew, Daniel Jaske; grand-nieces, Mary Colleen Jeffries and Maddie Jaske; and grand-nephew, Donnivan Jaske.
