CARLA THOMAS SAMPSEL age 49 of Powell, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 at Little Creek Nursing Home. She attended Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, Grace Baptist Church and Trinity United Methodist Church. She worked as a Social Worker for Helen Ross McNabb. Carla was a graduate of U.T. Preceded in death by father, Hesco Thomas; sisters, Peggy Kesterson and Anna Hopper. She is survived by her husband, George and sons, Evan and Zack; mother, Jeanette Thomas; several nieces and nephews and special friends at Helen Ross McNabb, Arbor Terrace Assisted Living and Little Creek Nursing Home. The family will receive friends 5-6:30 pm Monday at Weaver’s Chapel with the service to follow at 6:30pm. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Tuesday at Estes Cemetery in Coalfield, TN for an 11 am interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cole Neuro-Science Center at UTMC, Knoxville.
