

Wallen, Carol Anne, born October 22, 1943, passed away at age 71 on December 11, 2014 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Carol was preceded in death by mother Mary Pauline “Polly” Cunningham Wallen, Knoxville artist, and father Joseph Berry Wallen, Sr, Knoxville businessman. Carol was the granddaughter of Margaret Morton Cunningham, Robert Douglas Cunningham and Wallen grandparents. She was the great granddaughter of Ben A. Morton. Survived by brother Joe Berry Wallen, Jr. and wife Martha S. “Missy” Wallen; nieces Hallie and Marianne and many cousins. Carol attended Webb School of Knoxville as a member of 1961 first graduating class for girls. She attended Mercer University and University of Tennessee where she was a member of Chi Omega Fraternity and majored in art history. She was a member of Girls Cotillion and Junior League of Knoxville. Carol will be remembered for her unbridled enthusiasm in living life to the fullest, for her courage in facing life’s challenges, and for the love and generosity she shared with others. She greatly appreciated the love and care offered by her family, friends and caregivers.
